Female Business Enterprise
FBE
An FBE is a business that has been certified through the State of Illinois Business Enterprise Program to promote and encourage the continuing economic development of minority, female and person with a disability owned and operated businesses in Illinois.
An FBE business is at least 51% owned by one or more females or, in the case of a corporation, at least 51% of the stock in which is owned by one or more femailes, and the management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more females who own it. The 51% owners must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
